Terms of Service

1. The Service

Brookiro (the "Service") lets developers send a web page address or a PDF file and receive the text back as Markdown. An optional AI mode returns structured JSON, and a crawl endpoint processes several pages in the background. The Service is operated by Oladapo Salami, trading as Brookiro ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the API, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and give us an accurate email address.
  • Keep your password and API key secret. You are responsible for everything done with your key. If you think it has leaked, tell us right away so we can replace it.
  • Do not share keys, resell access, or open several accounts to get around limits.

3. Plans and limits

Free: 100 requests a month, up to 10 requests per minute. Pro: $19 per month, 10,000 requests a month, up to 60 requests per minute. Allowances reset monthly and unused requests do not carry over.

Size limits: web pages up to 5 MB; PDFs up to 15 MB and 300 pages (5 MB and 30 pages when you use AI extraction). Very long text may be shortened before AI analysis, and the response tells you when that happens. When you upgrade to Pro, your free key is replaced by a new Pro key, so update your code.

We may change plans, limits and prices. If we raise the price for current subscribers, we will give at least [30] days' notice.

4. Payments and cancellation

Payments and billing are handled by Lemon Squeezy, and its terms also apply to your purchase. Pro renews every month until you cancel. Cancelling stops future charges, and your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. When that period ends, your Pro key is deleted and stops working. Taxes may be added at checkout.

Refunds: full refund within 7 days of your first payment.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law or use the Service to harm others;
  • access content you have no right to access, or ignore the terms of the websites you fetch;
  • try to reach private or internal networks, or probe, overload or attack the Service;
  • bypass rate limits or quotas;
  • submit personal data you have no right to process.

We may suspend or end accounts that break these rules.

6. Your content

You keep all rights to the pages, files and data you send and to the results you receive, and you promise you have the right to send them. We use them only to provide the Service. We do not keep the text of pages or PDFs you submit, but we do keep a usage record (see our Privacy Policy). When you use AI extraction, the text is sent to Google's Gemini API to produce the result.

7. Accuracy of results

Results come from automated tools. Text extraction can miss content, pages that need JavaScript to display are not supported, scanned PDFs without a text layer cannot be read, and AI answers can be wrong or incomplete. You are responsible for checking results before relying on them, especially for legal, medical, financial or other important decisions.

8. Availability

We work to keep the Service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error free. We may change, pause or remove features, including free ones.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, do not pay, or put the Service or other people at risk.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $[100] if you only used the Free plan). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you by email or on your dashboard. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept it.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria, and disputes will be handled by the courts there, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
